Our food system is challenged.

It’s been designed to produce enough food to meet the needs of an ever-growing population. The go-to strategy has been industrialisation of processes to boost efficiency and reduce the risk of crop shortfalls. However, this has had such negative consequences on our environment. Eroding soil structures, shrinking woodland and livestock that are completely dependent on antibiotics are just a few examples.

As farmers, we have to take care of the land from which we grow food. It means everything to us that we run our farm in a thoughtful and responsible way. Whether it’s protecting the wellbeing of our animals, growing vegetables free of synthetic chemicals or encouraging the growth of wild flowers and plants, a commitment to sustainability influences all of our activities on the farm.

That said, there is always more that we can do.

We are exploring ways to improve the sustainability of our operation. As we do, we’ll take you through the evolution of the farm and how we’re making every effort to change our food system for the best.
